Knox
County Court April Ten 1838 The last will and testament of Susannah
Barton (deceased) was produced in court and proved by the oath of the
subscribing witnesses therto and ordered of record To wit In the
name of God amen. I Susannah Barton of the county of Knox and State of
Kentucky being sick and weak in body but of sound mind & disposing memory (for
which I thank God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being
desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to
bless me with I give & bequeath the same in manner following that is to say I
give to my daughter Catherine Barton all my real and personal estate consisting
of one hundred and ten acres of land being in the county & state aforesaid & all
my personal estate consisting of cattle sheep & household furniture not somuch
as gift but paying her for her personal services to me in my old age. In
[illegible] of Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affirmed my seal this
16th day of October in the year 1837. signed sealed & delivered in the
